:) ...It told me to type more.
Well, if they're good monitors...
If they're good monitors, then it should sound good on anything ;)
Also, I like this. Very much. I think you pulled this off extremely well. Keep it up.
My monitors are rather good, but i find headphones crucial for mixing low end.
Thanks for the thoughts i worked really hard on this remix, reviews within the first 5 minutes are always fun.
Have a very nice day sir.
Didn't you...
Didn't you already submit this once?
Well spotted ;P Yeah I changed a few things and did a bit of mastering, plus it got horribly 0 bombed :'(
Yes.
Yes. Yes. YES!
Spoiler Alert: YES!!!!!
Real Spoiler Alert: Screw Miguel.
I liked this. A lot. Very much a lot. Reminiscence. :)
It makes it wholly worthwhile to have spent time doing this if even one person likes it. Thanks.
DUDE!
This kicks ass! I'm pretty sure one of my buddies, who asked me to make a backing track for him, would love to spit to this. I have permission to send this to him?
Haha! Thats awesome totally! Go ahead! :D and thank you!
Indeed I do
Enjoy. I do enjoy. Very much.
Loved FFIX, as well. So, yeah. Reminiscence. Good rendition of this song.
Thanks alot. I highly enjoyed FF9 and Esto Gaza always felt like such a peaceful place to me :)
No... You're wrong.
Sorry, pal, but I speak Japanese. Akatsuki literally translates to Red Moon. Aka = noun form of red, tsuki = moon.
Now, to the actual review!
Intro:
Reminds me of Tiesto or Armin van Buuren, both of which are good things. I like the piano chording, and the build ups. The saw-square sounding synth that came in at 0:55 seems out of place to my ears. Note wise and soundwise. Didn't really fit the rest of the synths.
I like the break at 1:22. The piano gets more complex and it's tranquil.
High hat TOO LOUD! If you do your mix right, you don't have to have the hat even half that volume. It'll pierce through, it's one of the highest sounds in a mix. Ever.
I like the gated pad that you have near the end.
Umm... I dunno, mix up the build up. I could tell you just had one build up that you used over and over again whenever you wanted a climax type thing. It got boring after the second or third time.
8/10, 4/5
Shoot! hahaha damn internet trolls.
well this was only my second song ever, and im still just learning the ropes, but yeah i agree with you about 0:55.
other than that, i really appreciate your advice, and you can consider it duly noted for the future =)
The beginning...
The beginning reminded me of a song by Rellika, which is a huge compliment. Kept me listening.
After the snare roll build up and dropoff at 1:04, I thought the crash there should have had a longer tail. It was even more abrupt that I expected. And when it came back in, it was WEAK! You should have had everything going there, drums, bass, lead synth, all kinds of energetic. That's what I was expecting, and I was in a position to dance. Then... Nothing.
Then it starts to build up again. I do like how you have the synth transition from being in tune with itself, to slightly detuned oscillators. Get that supersaw going. And it built up and... You did the SAME THING at 2:30. You killjoy.
This song never got super energetic and never gave me a chance to dance. I am disappoint. But the composition itself was good, if not repetitive, so I give you an 8/10, 4/5
Thanks
Very good!
All in all, the whole piece meshes with itself. Which is a good thing.
The only real complaint that I have is that the ducking/sidechaining seems really excessive to me. It actually kinda hurt my ears. Other than that, great tune here!
Thanks so much! hehe ye i agree its a bit too much.
